NTU HALL OF RESIDENCE 3:
DINNER & DANCE PUBLICITY SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN
Assistant Creative Director
Project:
What does coming home to Hall 3 mean to you?
Category: Graduating Seniors
The Dinner & Dance committee is looking to use social media as a viable platform for publicity and to raise awareness for its upcoming event held in August. The theme this year is Homecoming, a notion familiar to every resident that comes back to Hall 3 after classes on the weekdays and from their homes over the weekends. The idea that Hall becomes a secondary home to the graduates and undergraduates spending their university days away from their actual homes and its growing significance to their lives as they engage in communal living among their academic work across the years. An instagram page was set up with a campaign in mind to pay tribute to the current residents who have kept the spirit of Hall 3 alive, starting from the graduating batch of the year 16/17. These residents give their take on the notion of Homecoming and what it means to them.

They say, it's better to stay than to leave and come back. This is especially so when it is in Hall 3, where your friends are your families. That's why I've been here since 2011. The year where iPhone 4S was released.

"NEED A LIGHT?"

Light
-
A divine presence believed to enlighten and guide the soul
This work explores the irony within the habitual behaviour of a human being. In deconstructing the aesthetics of an object in which humans have a tendency to indulge in as a platform to channel stress and emotional turmoil, my intention was to provide emphasis on the vulnerability that something so merely tangible can bring “light” and/or colour to a dull, lacklustre life, yet at the same time desaturate someone else’s. Hence, the Typography in this piece is meant in both its literal and metaphorical sense, slowly killing that which is closest to the heart. So, need a light?

FOUNDATION DRAWING FINAL:
THE GIRL WITH THE PEARL EARRING
Mediums: Traditional Watercolour / Sketching
The reason why I chose this style is because of the vary in brushstrokes which creates a lucid feeling to the piece and I really like the rhythm of the brushstrokes, it is very flowy and unpredictable. Also, it gives me more freedom in my choices. This style encompasses the idea of beauty in the rawest form, in which one can let loose and not be restricted by wanting it to look “perfect”.
