MELANIE WONG

Hello there!

I'm Melanie, a year 4 undergraduate from Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art, Design and Media taking a Bachelor with Honors in Digital Filmmaking. My roles in filmmaking with significant experience are in Directing, Producing, Scriptwriting, Production Design and Editing. I am also proficient in graphic design and basic motion graphics.

My passion is in Storytelling and Content Creation using various digital platforms and/or audiovisual means and I am interested in pursuing a career that allows me to grow in an exciting new media industry. 

In January 2017, I returned from 6 months of education abroad at Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart, Germany studying Audio Visual Media (film & communication). It exposed me to a wider world of culture, mingling with international students as well as Germans themselves and hence opened my eyes to the value of culture and the role it plays in telling stories across the world.

I believe everyone and everything in this world has a story to tell, and that we as people should not only concern ourselves with our own, but learn to embrace the many others around us in order to truly understand the nature of the world around us.

I love Japanese culture, Japanese aesthetics and anime. My favourite filmmaker is director Hirokazu Kore-eda. I also love playing PC and console games.

I have been playing Volleyball for 10 years and I also very much love to dance.

I assure you I am a happy weirdo bursting with all sorts of energy!!!! :-)
